Right-hander Aiden Moffett, a former LSU Tiger, committed to the Texas Longhorns on Saturday, giving pitching coach Max Weiner and head coach Jim Schlossnagle another piece to add to the 2025 bullpen.
After the 2024 season, Moffett used the NCAA transfer site. She still has two seasons left to be eligible.
Moffett, a 6’3, 221-pound right-hand pitcher from Mount Olive (Miss.), was regarded as one of the top 200 prospects in the country by Perfect Game in the 2022 recruiting class. Moffett faced Butler with 19 pitches in his lone appearance as a freshman. Moffett pitched in the Northwoods League during the summer, compiling two saves, striking out 22 batters in 13.0 innings across 11 appearances, and limiting opponents to a.133 batting average.
During his sophomore season, Moffett was a more significant member of the LSU bullpen. He made 16 appearances, struck out 21 batters in 17.2 innings, and went 0-1 with a 5.60 ERA. However, he also gave up 12 walks, four home runs, and three wild pitches.
