After the NHL draft and just before free agency, the Boston Bruins managed to issue four qualifying offers.
The Bruins confirmed that, before the 5 p.m. ET deadline on Sunday, they extended these offers to Jeremy Swayman, Michael Callahan, Marc McLaughlin, and Alec Regula.
These players have until 
July 15 to accept the one-year offer, or they could pursue arbitration to negotiate a deal, similar to what Swayman did last offseason. If a restricted free agent declines the qualifying offer, other teams can attempt to sign him to an offer sheet, which the Bruins can choose to match.
General Manager Don Sweeney has emphasized that securing a long-term deal with Swayman is a “priority” this offseason, particularly following the trade of Linus Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators last week.
Callahan and Regula, who were acquired in last year’s Taylor Hall trade with the Chicago Blackhawks, spent the previous season with Boston’s AHL affiliate. McLaughlin played only one game for the Bruins in the 2023-24 season.
No qualifying offers were made to Jesper Boqvist, Curtis Hall, and Joey Abate, who will stay with Providence for the next season.
Boqvist, who brought energy as a bottom-six forward and played 47 games last season with six goals and eight assists, will become an unrestricted free agent and can explore options when free agency starts on Monday at noon ET.
